FRISCO, Texas — The Columbus Academy Girls Golf Team competed earlier this week at the 2023 Professional Golfers Association of America National Invitational in Frisco, Texas.
Vikings Head Coach Maggie Freytag traveled to the Lonestar State with five players in tow, all of which played a role in Academy’s first-ever state championship in Girl’s Golf last fall. The Maroon and Gray sent Angela Hu, Caroline Zeiger, Eliza Freytag, Sydney Fortney, and Eva Baker as one of two groups of players to represent the best in the State of Ohio.
Despite difficult conditions, the Academy quintet combined for a strong showing finishing Top 20 in the nation. The Vikings enjoy some time off before returning to action at the Central Buckeye League Preseason Tournament on August 9th at Mentel Memorial Golf Course in Galloway, Ohio.
Tee-times are scheduled to begin at 9 AM.
