Worthington Christian enjoys big week with Academic All-League Awards announced, Owusu Sarfo named Boys Soccer Player of the Year

WORTHINGTON, Ohio – It is with great pride that the Central Buckeye League member institutions announce their Academic All-League award winners at the conclusion of each athletic season. The following athletes have been recognized by Worthington Christian High School for outstanding athletic achievement.

To qualify for an Academic All-League Award in the CBL a student-athlete must fall into two different criteria.

  • The student must have earned a varsity letter during the current season.
  • The student must have a cumulative 3.75 GPA or greater through the most recently completed grading period.

Worthington Christian’s Sammy Owusu Sarfo was named the Columbus Dispatch Boys Soccer Player of the Year at the Central Ohio High School Sports Awards Ceremony during a ceremony last week. The Worthington Christian graduate helped lead the Warriors to the Division III State Championship contest. He also captured First Team All-Ohio honors for Division III.

This fall he will compete at Ohio Wesleyan University where he hopes to add to the Battling Bishops National Championship tally.
